Finally caught up on this one. Ep 6 was quite a bore but ep 7 was great again.
But what I didnt get is that Ayumu erased their memories in ep 6 right? So why did they still dress him up as a girl knowing he looks good in it? And why doesnt he care about everyone seeing him transform at the end of ep 6? That makes just no sense.

Who wouldve known that his teacher was a Masou Shoujo too? And again she is flatchested so my theory of Masou Shoujos beeing flatchested could still be right. But as Necro already said the question is why Kyouko isnt flat. Maybe she is flat and because of something (for example a curse, magical item, surgery or whatever) has gotten what she has now.

I somehow knew that Eu knows that Ayumu is fantasizing of her since that was so obvious that its impossible not to be noticed by her and the other girls.
And she really is a lot cuter without her armor.

Im quite surprised that Im the only one who seems to think that Harunas Teacher will become the enemy even though its so obvious. Or maybe because its too obvious so that nobody except me thinks its going to happen.

Btw dont you think its great when girls bring their own tentacle monster with which they can be reaped with just like Taeko does?

a great 8th episode even though the murderous yandere Kyouko was back for a while to "help" revealing the weakness of Chris (tickle-tickle her sides? ¬¬) after she dated Ayumu to release her frustration in prison and asked to organize a mixer to enjoy his suffering, frankly I didn't miss much her bipolar personality and crazy faces creepier than the previous season which were as disfigured as the girls of Higurashi from cute to nutty o.O ...from all places he had to organize it in the Mask Donalds from S1 but was funny to see Orito falling for "his little sister" and Hadena fansubs adding spanish words when the mexican pro-wrestlers talked with Ayumu, while Ariel-sensei joined the party reminded me what Ossie keeps mentioning about her being an obvious enemy but I'm still doubtful if she can be trusted or not after releasing Kyouko for a few days (most likely the battle against her in the opening was made to troll us)

I wonder if chris is as strong as the current head Masou Shoujo

Ok well with episode 8 we get to see Ayumu pushing himself to find a way to counter-attack his dear Yousei-san er I mean with Chris of course.

Still seeing Kyoko having her openly psycho mode show off without much of a reason fro it to be set off was kind fo a running gag with her it seemed. Although it seemed only Ayumu was able to calm her down in the end of it all.

In any case it seems that Ayumu has the one problem of now knowing that he inadvetantly obtained a harem in a sense.

Still I do enjoy the bit with the delusional Yuu-chans since they tend to be rather cute and funny at the same time when it comes down to it.

Kyouko was fun to see again. She is just plain nuts but to have her sentenced to a life in which nobody will remember her is somewhat harsh. That will probably make her even more crazy.
I wasn't thrilled with the mixer party. Some things were nice as Haruna goes into party mode and the king's game. However i hoped for something between Orito and Mihara as that would make a good couple. Now it felt like all hope on that seems lost. Just seeing Ayumu with a harem and ignoring other possible love interests (after that good confession from Orito to Mihara) feels boring..
The mentioning of Ariel as an enemy seems to be more possible..Chris was her teacher and probably stronger than Ariel so some affection between them may still exist. Ariel ain't exactly saintly when remembering her treatment of Kyouko..
Tickling works as a weapon? Maybe due to the tickling Chris can't concentrate

Just watched ep 8 and it was really good to see Kyouko again, especially when she goes crazy. Or she heightens the sexy-factor of the show (the nightie she wore was just great). Other people not having memories of her is really a hard punishment and to be honest I dont really know what she did to deserve that. Sure she killed a few persons, buts no enough in my eyes. But maybe Im just forgetting something else she did since season one was a long time ago.

The mixer couldve been better. It was far too short thanks to Harunas master crushing it -.- But unlike other people I dont want to see something happening between Orito and Mihara. They dont suit each other and shes far to good for him.

I hope the title for the next ep really indicates more of Sarasvati since she doesnt get enough screentime.

Best scene of the ep:

Well episode 9 pretty much added another bombshell to the cast, and this time she happens to be one of Yuu's friends back in the underworld it seem.

Although I have to say that Ayumu is having his work cut out for him now that his so-called harem had increased by one this episode. Although I'm sure by next episode that number will increase again with Chris of course.

In any case it was rather nice seeing that Saras tended to show sort of a deredere side towards Ayumu and not only that but it looks like she might have her way with him sooner or later as well.

In any case granted the next episode is technically the last one for this season I get a feeling that an OVA or 2 might come out to finish up what is going on here.

That and this is prety much the only good series that Studio DEEN has done as of late if you ask me.

Probably not just one as Naegleria seems also interested. The episode itself was pretty good. Ayumu being nice to Saras was fun to watch however also the weak part of this series. Ayumu never seems to focus on one girl to be his girlfriend. It would be better if he finally woke up and choses a girl. Now those parts with one of the girls are just something that feel like a bit extra to fill the episode.
The best part came in the end for me when we get to Naegleria and Chris together. It was to be expected that after spending so much time away from their respective homeworlds they would have contact. Looks like there ain't gonna be a fight between them.

who knows if it'll happen in the next OVA or until season 3 -.- too bad Naegleria only appeared in the last two episodes and to be honest the finale of this 2nd TV series wasn't as good compared to most previous eps, the irresponsible attitude of Ariel didn't help much after erasing Ayumu's memories for the perverted slime test failure and let out his evil emo side like some kind of final boss but that was part of the whole test after all... there were a few funny moments like his bishounen demon parodies of the 7 deadly sins irritating everyone but Eu's transformation into a masou shoujo was kinda unexpected, she was way stronger using her necromancer power in S1 and instead her old memo notes brough back his memory ¬¬ oh well hopefully ep.11 (coming out on October 20) gets better to decide if KwZdKotD it's worth 7/10 or 6/10.

Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? Of the Dead is the sequel to the surprisingly popular Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? series from Winter 2011. The sequel series premiered in the Spring 2012 anime season and was licensed for simulcast streaming by Funimation Entertainment. As a result of the surprising popularity for its predecessor, high expectations by many fans were held for the sequel. So did the series deliver its inhuman blowout once more?

This sequel…I’m really not sure how to describe it except roughly 70-80% filler and 20% of meaningful content. The story lacked a consistent flow and new characters were just “there” without much introduction. Eucliwood Hellscythe definitely began to play a much larger role overall now that she could “speak,” but at the end of the day, I felt the series went in circles in the 10 episode run. Usually when a show with source material is given a short (and abnormal) episode count, you can either expect one of two things: lackluster material to animate or little filler. This show of course chose the former. While some may disagree with the whole “time wasting” aspect of this show, I’m unfortunately not in that boat. I should also note that the OP video played little role this time in unveiling anything interesting about the series this time. I was hoping for some epic conflict with Kyouko, but we ended up getting something boring…

Animation wise, the show continues to remain impressive. Solid movement and fluidity with great visuals to match the dark setting of the show. Character designs improved but artistic consistency was quite poor this time around with inconsistent facial expressions and a number of distant shots. Backgrounds remain unimpressive overall. Studio DEEN has certainly improved their quality from when the first season aired last Winter but considering their other title this season, Sankarea, which happens to also be a zombie title, Sankarea is clearly the better animated the show.

OP is decent but not as good as the first series. It’s also not a title I personally would listen to on a long-term basis. ED is still funny and is better than the first series but again not something I would listen to on a long-term basis. In contrast, the musical score has improved for the show overall. A number of memorable tracks now, especially in the final fight of the series between Eu and Belphegor/Dark Ayumu. Seiyuu cast remains average overall with only the different Eucliwood Hellscythe seiyuus being the most entertaining aspects.

Enjoyment? The series got worse as it dragged on. There were a couple interesting episodes towards the end, but for the most part, it was really 20% meaningful. There were many other shows in the Spring 2012 anime season that kept and are keeping my interest far more. This show needs to get its act together and start telling a “story.” It clearly has one (not to mention one that is very interesting), but it refuses to progress in any meaningful fashion. The fact that we didn’t see any major fight this season was also a huge downer given the amount in the prequel (the finale does not count as major).

Overall, the series is losing steam fast. The staff/studio is milking this series too fast and too soon. My guess is they ran out of material to animate but even if they didn’t, they need to do something else if they want to keep the franchise going. It has some great potential, but this season literally flushed most of it down the drain. I personally do not see what many people find good about this season compared to its prequel.

Kit, why do most of your final score ratings always seems to be 1 lower than your preliminary score...like always? I know my rating system is pretty much "fail" tbh cause I always score too high. I'm just curious plus I need to watch the OVAs that's between the 1st and the 2nd season, finished watching the 1st season recently.

Okay with the final episode I have ot come up with wanting to belive that they sort of took a page out of Umineko with giving the names of Ayumu's personas the same names and actions as the Stakes of Purgatory here.

In any case for it to end with 10 epsidoes total makes me think that Studio DEEN doesn't know what the heck they are doing at times. Although they may be trying to push this series along to sell the OVA I'll bet.

In any case pretty much things ended and I think the whole class now knows that he's actually a full on zombie.

Overall I have to say that Yu-chan did manage to hold things together, especially finally having all four voices active in the series. Not only that but for them to pretty much interact with each other after the ED credits was always cute and made my day though.

In any case I kind of wonder if they had little material to work on, or were trying something along the line of pushing DVD/BluRay sales over this.

So the last episode of the season and no epic battle . Just a slime test by Ariel and a fight with one of his evil personalities. It felt like a bit of a let down.
That slime part was nice with Mihara getting thrown on Orito. Why don't the writers just make them a pair? It keeps on getting hinted and that would give some new life into those two characters. The evil Ayumu was okay as that laid back attitude felt like a new fresh wind. Hopefully they can write it into the character of Ayumu.

For the whole season i was a bit disappointed. Most episodes were fillers and even though they were sometimes nice like the tsundere battle it never got the main story going. Now we got another unfinished main storyline which hopefully will be finished in another season.
Characterwise some were nice like Kyouko's return, Naegleria and Chris. However they all lacked the depth and scenes to be really good.
In all it wasn't a good series this time. It had it's highlights but to be really good it needs to follow through on a main story.
For me this series gets a 6 out of 10 and that is only due to its humor. Even the fillers did that right.

I actually haven't seen the 2nd OVA (3rd OVA comes later) because no one has released it....

As for my scores, I tend to factor in advance where the series will go based on my initial impression of the series. In the case of KoreZom season 1, I gave it a 6/10 I believe and so I assumed that it was basically going to go in the same direction as the first season maybe with some margin of error. Usually when I'm within +/- 1 I take it as "noise" affecting the series. When I'm +/- 2 or more though, then I know I was off in my prediction.

Ep 9:
Clearly the best ep of this franchise, mainly because Sarasvati was completely awesome and hot in this ep, something the other characters didnt accomplish in both seasons. The way she was smiling while giving Ayumu the ticket and after her concert were just great. She defenitely is the best girlfriend-choice of all the girls in this show.
Introducing Nene, who is a great character too, just seconds this ep as the best. She is goodlooking, laidback and doesnt try to kill someone just because she touched him like most women in anime sadly do. If only she didnt always fall asleep -.-

Ep 10:
After the best ep comes the worst ep of the series. Ep 10 was just so completely useless, lousy and unnecessary I cant even imagine what drove the producers to create it. Spending so much time on Ariel alone is an insult to us viewers and all the things that were happening were just so out of place that it really wasa waste of time.

Overall this show was better than the first one until ep 10 since it made more fun and there was more Sarasvati. But sadly ep 10 destroyed that.
The fillerparts were so much better than the plotparts which were bad, or in case of ep 10 horrible. They left so many questions unanswered, introduced characters who in the end sadly didnt have a meaning (Nene), brought back people just to let them disappear again right afterwards (Kyouko) or threw someone at us without even introducing him (Anderson). Not to mention the ridiculous and sickmaking scenes between Orito and Kagami.

And just who is Toshiro? And what does he have to do with Sera?

Just as season one this one gets a 6/10.

@nijlandp: Im not really surprised that Ayumu doesnt try to get one of the girls as his girlfriend since noone of them is girlfriendmaterial. Eu is like a little sister to him, Haruna is mostly annoying, Sera is always only insulting him, Kagami is not interested in him, Taeko is too shy and Yuki too shy and not goodlooking enough. Nene, Ariel, Kyouko and Chris dont even have to be mentioned here since that would be too far off. The only one who could be considered a potential girlfriend in my eyes is Sarasvati, but here Ayumu fears for his ass too much^^

@Killer_Ossi: i didn't expect Ayumu to get a girlfriend. It would be more fun if he did make something of a choice and got himself into a whole lot of trouble with the other contenders .
For the rest i prefer a real couple to get the contenders to be even more competitive (like getting all jealous at the happy couple). That is why i do hope for Orito and Mihara. They may not be a perfect match with how they act but it sure would spice things up.

Actually Anderson/Shimomura was in the first season as well as the follow-up OVA(s). Given that you didn't remember him only drives home my point that this series literally just drops characters as they go. They're not really useful and can't maintain a strong presence outside the normal 4.

the new OVA is subbed just in time for halloween ^^ a fitting series but now is about a flea market -.- the hotties Sera and Sarasvati are as sadistic as ever, Eu fantasized with voices from more seiyus than usual by Ayumu who uncovered the truth behind successful sales and invisibility for a while thanks to Haruna... I wonder what famous monster he'll become next time xD a werewolf maybe? he was turned into a mummy for a few seconds, but definitely the best part was the girls' physical exam

Yes it was a really good OVA. The maincast was completely present, the comedy good and the girls as always hot.

Im surprised that Seras let Haruna sell her bra to Orito. Or at least I was expecting her to take it back and punish him afterwards or something.

8/10 from me and thus the highest score of the franchise.
