Its based on Koei's popular Angelique franchise.

Plot:

Angelique Limoges, an ordinary high school girl, is chosen as a queen candidate. With help from the power of the nine Guardians, she aims to be the next Queen.

I'm looking forward to this ---> "Who will be the NEXT Queen of the Cosmos ?" ---> okay, back to why I'm looking forward to this....simply because its a romance drama anime....which I UBER-Dig....so its on my list and I hope its on yours too.

I think this series is based directly off the most recent PS2 game, at least that's what I translate off the main site. Not 100% show, but that would be weird considering if they haven't showed any previous portion of the entire series.

I watched one episode from the Angelique series, I don't know which one but it was a bit old... and it was so cheesy I could barely get through the first episode!
But, I like the character design in this one, and hopefully the story + animation is better than the one I saw... I'll probably check out the first episode if it's subbed

I just watched the first episode and well I guess there is a place in this world for this anime but it's a place I would most likely avoid. Once again I come across very unimpressed with the the heroine of the story right from the go. Angelique is that very shy, "I don't have the power..." type character. Even when she healed another person not too long ago w/her special abilities she tried to give that oh but it was surely a coincidence... oh I could never fight the Thatohormones... (haha yeah that's made up I forgot the name sue me!) anyways maybe I'm being a little harsh on her but in general I found her a tremendous annoyance.

I guess if your easily impressed you could say that the fight scene with the cool weapons was impressive. I wouldn't go that far though. I thought the animation of the scenes were very plain. Not to mention the part where they were waiting for Angelique to release her powers and save them, w/their astonished looks , was terribly predictable.

Looks like we are in for a lot of males vying for her affection I suppose. They'll probably be doing some purifying in between (maybe that will be enough to keep watching who knows?!) but I will say that the opening scene was by far the best part of the show. Which overall was my major reason for disappointment.

This show is super cheesy... I don't think I can take anymore. I was hoping it might be more like La Corda... which had it's cheesy moments but still kept me interested. It may have also been that Hino was a lot more likable than Angelique.
Angelique's ... no no I cant save anyone, it was all just a coincidence that I saved that old man... -I touched his hand, this bright light appeared and he was well again... yea that had nothing to do with me-
I might watch it if there was a chance for a real romance to develop, but I think that they will all just be vying for her affection like senpai-kun said, and she won't end up with anyone

Well I had no clue what this anime was about before I downloaded it lol. I had saw the first two mintues of this anime on a youtube special and it looked somwhat cool. They started off with that fight scene and suckered me in XD. Plus you could have informed/warned me since you claimed you watched some of this Angelique series before (but you were probably too busy changing your avvy to take time out of your oh so busy day lol). Eh but who am I kidding I'm stubborn and would have downloaded and watched it in secret probably haha. Just like cool X spicy opps shh... Well anyways I won't be watching anymore super cheesy so no harm no foul! XD

I watched 3 episodes about a year or two ago and it was so nicey nice and pretty pretty i got kinda bored ~.....Heres hoping its better than the last one i saw ...

all i remember was she was lost in a forest and then was in a castle ...then met a lot of people and was the last contestant to some queen of all reality something~! ok so ...im gonna go out on a limb ill download it since most of what i was watching with so little time lately ~!

No, Honest I will watch the entire episode !~ hoping it has some good fight scenes !!! <<smirks >> if i dont return to this i got busy looking for my noble masters episodes or lost interest HOWever i may actually like this if it is better written !

Why does this series seem to keep starting over? I don't understand it?

....I am pretty sure Nyx is evil due to the fact that Nyx in Greek mythology is Thanatos father... though ... I am not sure.

Otherwise I am slightly impress with this series. Though I watched it out of boredom and it looked pretty...it turned out to be interesting and I am looking for to the rest of the series.

Yeah, noticed that too..But based on the opening song he seemed to have an "evil" side, and he made an "evil" smile in one part in episode 2..

I kinda like the series too (mostly because of the bishounens, since I'm a sucker for bishies ), and also it seems better than the previous Angelique series..

While the young Angelique lives out her days peacefully in her school, attacks from the monstrous Thanatos has been increasing everywhere else. Two Purifiers show up one day, men with the power to exterminate the Thanatos. One of them, Nyx, attempts to convince Angelique to join them in their work, as she has the power to be the only female Purifier. As Angelique hesitates, a Thanatos shows up in their school. Nyx and the other Purifier, Rayne, fight a losing battle. With her classmates falling prey to the Thanatos, and the Purifiers beaten to submission, Angelique's desire to save everyone awakens. She became the only female Purifier in their land of Arcadia, the one known as the "Queen's Egg".

Season two is coming this July:

If it was out in July I am surpised a subber has not picked it up yet and gotten it out.

One group has stated that they are picking up the series. It is the same group that has done all of the "Angelique" series. They have been faithfull with completing these series so far, they are not fast subbers so be patient.
