Well, if what Jul10 says is true, then you don't need to watch Otome to understand the storyline for this possible series. Otome is another series of itself, and doesn't really follow the HiME theme. So whether you're new to the characters or not, they'll try making it so that they're new all over.

Guys i think the bottom line of these questions are:
1)Is it true that a 2nd Of Mai Hime is Coming?(Sources say 2008)
2)When is it?

And guys pls dun bad mouth about Mai-Otome cause its really a great anime if u ask me...

Oh ya btw guys theres lots of question about the new season as the name is either Mai Hime Destiny OR Mai Hime Next Stage??????!

The next installment in the Mai Hime series will indeed be called Mai Hime Destiny. We don't know when it will air yet... I think Mai Hime Next Stage was a possible name for Mai Otome, and then they changed it..

Thx for the reply! But don't u think its strange that why Mai-Hime Destiny will be out next year(2008)????? Too many sources confirmed the date to 2008....

It is NOT confirmed yet that there will be Mai-Hime Destiny. Mai Hime Destiny so far is only a novel that has been released. The novel is continuation of the original series, so many people will think it will be adapted into anime. But it is not yet determined the truth behind this...guess we have to wait for official announcement...

As I'm kinda new into this with anime etc I just finished wathed (as I think) the very
first season of 'Mai HiME' , I really really enjoyed it, I mean wow

Anyway I would like to get some things clear

'Mai HiME' is the first season right?
And then what are these 'Mai Hime Destiny' , 'Mai-Otome' , 'Mai-Otome Zwei'?

If i understood it right 'Mai-Otome' should be 2nd season and 'Mai-Otome Zwei' should be the 3rd season and the 'Mai Hime Destiny' is a movie?

So, are they even related like they continue the story from 'Mai HiME' or is it all new?
I hope you understand and please help me >_<

Mai Otome is a spinoff/ not a direct sequel of Mai HiME. They have the same character but it different

As Kansatsusha-sama said above, Mai-Otome is not a direct sequel of Mai-Hime. Instead it is the same characters just set in an alternate universe.

Mai-Hime Destiny is currently the unconfirmed/rumored sequel of Mai-Hime. No further announcements are available

Mai-Otome Zwei is the OVA sequel to Mai-Otome that is currently airing and takes place 1 year after Mai-Otome. 3 episodes are currently available and the 4th DVD will come in late August.

Mai HiME Destiny, has no relations at ALL To mai HiME. or Oto-Hime. hah. Okay, aside from it being still in FUUKA ACADEMY or Hokkaido, or the same characters...I suppose this won't be a spoiler, however, a ... summary perhaps?

I have no idea why there is the HiME in it yet, sincce the students there are MiKO or have that powers. I don't want to advertise, but if anyone who hasn't read the first three chapters, and wants to read the scans, just ask =D.

Just learned about Hime Destiny.... and am reading the translated novel scans. Dunno about the main plot... but I can watch the series just for Shizuru-nee-samaaaaaa...... . Especially since she got that katana and her coolness was multiplied by ten times .
