With that quote you just pointed out as to why I'm expecting a sudden curveball here. I'd wouldn't be overly supprised if he suddenly got a sisicom by the last two epsidoes. Although I'm not ruling out the whole suddenly he ends up with either Ari or Sana in the end of things. ![]() - Miko Miko Mode Oni Version - Yes, I do have a red riding hood complex... Ok after seeing epsidoe 11 I still say that there can be a sudden curveball here. I mean putting aside the Shongo Miu part it seems the merger has hit a snag somehow and my come into play as to how things turn out.
Still respectfully I don't even see how he suddenly went for Miu over Airi. I mean it's not following the common rules of a harem baised series here. ![]() - Miko Miko Mode Oni Version - Yes, I do have a red riding hood complex... Another great ep. Finally a show were the people arent a-sexual or completely dense and more shy than it would be possible.
I liked the part with Airi and Sana the most, since I miss those scenes in nowadays animes. The part about Miu and Shingo was good too, except for the kissing scene which was looking a bit strange since their mouths didnt really connect. Ok they arent experienced in it, but it could very well be the producers fault too. It seems like they even had their first time too. I can already see the otakus in Japan rage about this. The scene with Ranka and Yuiko was a bit strange in my eyes. I dont know, but it just felt strange. @Wolfie: Of course it doesnt follow the common rules for harem shows since this show is obviously no harem show. Two people (Miu and Sana) falling in love with the mainguy isnt enough for a harem. And even if, him choosing Airi wouldve made no sense and would be a real curveball. Back from AniMagic 2012. It was a nice Weekend, took a lot of pictures from Cosplayers, got Figures worth 130€ (see picture below) and even an Autogrpah of Hideo Baba, the Headproducer of the Tales of JPRG-Series. ![]() My Animelist With the right "people" ghost stories are even scarier: ![]() |

Well with episode 12 it pretty much focused more on Myu-sempai and Pannya over whatever was left for this series. Pretty much you would of thought that Senna or even Airi had a chance here in the first place, but oh well. The whole school merger issue turned out to be nothing more then a minor distraction that pretty much didn't have any work to be put into it for it to be resolved at all here.
Overall I'd say this was somewhat of an average series, nothing special to write home about at all. ![]() - Miko Miko Mode Oni Version - Yes, I do have a red riding hood complex... A really good final with Pannya getting back to his family and Miu learning how to move on.
Since I have pets too I know how Miu was feeling when she had to let him go. Overall it was a pretty good show, which didnt go the comedy-harem route as I initially thought it would but was more a light-romance show. A few more eps couldve made the show even better, since the merger appeared to be completely useless. Shingo joining the school in his first year wouldntve changed anything, but like this it feels unfinished. Except for the sudden personality change with Sana the characters of the show were good. Them beeing realistic is a great plus. And none of the usual archetypes like the ugly-childhoodfriend or the loli-tsundere, which was good too. But there are a few characters I wouldve wanted to see more of and get to know better like Ranka, Machi or the two friends of Shingo in his class (the greenhaired girl and the blonde guy). Storywise theres not much too say except that it was realistic and it didnt get overboard or had any total-no-sense-scenes. A 8/10 from me. Back from AniMagic 2012. Mashiro-iro Symphony, yet another harem visual novel title adapted into an anime. If people thought Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon was going to get good, I'm sure many didn't see this one coming.
Mashiro-iro Symphony starts out as your typical high school romance comedy series. The male protagonist is introduced to your primary heroines and ideally ends up choosing one by the end of the series. Luckily for Mashiro-iro Symphony, this show ends up not only making that ideal come true but picks a "non-main" girl instead. The development of the characters, while shallow, gave some meaning to each (barring Sakuno). The only real downfall here is that Sana and Airi really got the short end of the stick with a lack of further development. For example, Airi simply was cast away from the show after episode 4 and we never really got to learn as much about Sana despite all the emotional dwelling we saw. The drama in this show wasn't spectacular but the rain scene with Sana and Airi was rather touching. Story isn't perfect but it's not bad either. In fact, maybe one more episode could have helped develop the whole "merger" thing better but I guess since they went with Miu's route, the whole merger is no longer an issue unless it's Airi's. The OP/ED sequences constantly hinted at Miu as a highly potential candidate and while I'm personally not satisfied with choosing Miu over Sana, the development and material leading up to it was very solid. Now if it only went a little further on the Christmas episode then I think we may have a winner since the time of Shuffle! Manglobe's animation really made this show look pretty. While certainly no Kami Nomi level of animation, this is still very much respectable quality. The art was even better though in my opinion. The lighting could have used a bit more work given a number of the darker scenes throughout the series, but all in all still respectable and certainly watchable. OP was by Choucho and ED was by Marble. No problems there. Insert in episode 12 was also nice. Background music was not particularly memorable though. Seiyuu was okay but was hoping for a certain seiyuu to voice Sana given how much she looked like Corticarte Apa Lagranges...not to mention acted like her. In fact, a number of the characters looked like Polyphonica characters, I wonder if it's the same artist. Enjoyment? Certainly a lot more than I had ever anticipated. While the show is by no means groundbreaking, I had much more fun watching this show than say Ika Musume, Working'!!, Un-Go, etc... from this season. Overall, Mashiro-iro Symphony is literally what last season's Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi wished to be. A harem show that manages to capture the background and major characteristics of its primary heroines and ultimately come to a conclusion. Mashiro-iro wasted little time with any excess filler and really plowed through as much material as it could. The first few episode were a bit slow and Ange wasn't particularly interesting but once it really got its foot off the ground, the show was great. However, I wouldn't consider recommending this title to anyone. It's still more of a guilty pleasure than anything else. Preliminary Score: Final Score: |

By the way, I've been searching the internet high and low for the manga adaptations of this series.
According to the game's Wikipedia page (both English and Japanese), the manga adaptation DID cover Airi Sena's route which is done by illustrator Futago Minazuki. This adaptation is done in a two-volume tankoubon (total 12 chapters) and has been published by Kadokawa Shoten Japan on 26/04/2010 (Volume 1) and 25/09/2010 (Volume 2). A Chinese (Traditional) localization of the manga will be published in February 2012 (both volumes) by Kadokawa Comics Taiwan. Any critics that say that the manga does not exist will be shocked to see this: ![]() ![]() In addition, the very same illustrator also made TWO more ADDITIONAL manga adaptations of this series focusing on the routes of Sana Inui and Yutsuki Onomiya, the two newly added heroines for the All-Ages PSP remake of the game called "Mashiro-iro Symphony ~Mutsu no Hana~". ![]() Mashiro-iro Symphony ~Wind of Silk~, featuring Sana Inui as heroine. 1 Volume, 6 Chapters. Released in Japan on 26/08/2011. (Exactly 16 months after Official Manga Release) ![]() Mashiro-iro Symphony ~Twinkle Moon~, featuring Yutsuki Onomiya as heroine. 1 Volume, 4 Chapters. Released in Japan on 26/12/2011. (Exactly 20 months after Official Manga Release, which coincidentally falls on Boxing Day) Hope anyone can see if they can help me out. Because it seems that all my searches for this only ended up hitting the anime version instead. This post has been edited by Kiyoyuki_Takeda on Mar 02 2012, 09:59 AM |

Wait... so there is that much manga adaptation for Mashiro-iro Symphony... I'm really interested by the Sana route and the Yutsuki one. Sena-chan's one would be the last one I would check xD But too sad there is only one chapter for Sana and 2 for Sena...
I'll try to see if I can find anything, I'll pm you if I have found something =) |

Btw, the PSP version of this game Mashiro-iro Symphony *mutsu-no-hana has been localized into Chinese already. This includes the main 4 heroine routes PLUS 2 new ones: Sana Inui and Yutsuki Onomiya. Anyone interested must be able to understand Simplified Chinese in order to understand the story in the game. (Note: This PSP version is rated 15X, which means no X-Rated Scenes inside).
