theres kyou and tomoyo after kotomi so um...if u leave like 6 ep for nagisa thatd be 3 ep each for kyou and kotomi....kinda cutting it close there....still i tink they can make it...i hope....(at least plsss dun throw away kyous arc...id like to see her get intimate with tomoya at least once...>.<)

btw animewiz, howd u noe kotomis parents died in a plane crash??i sure couldnt tell just from those flashbacks...or maybe im dumb so i missed the hints...

because when he entered her room he saw the newspaper killed and then he remembered her parent and said we know each other when we where kid right kotomi

Kyou is deffinately my favourite character, but I enjoyed Tomoyo's and Kotomi's stories better, Kotomi's made me ball my eyes out... but then most of the stories had at least one heart wrenching part . The animes great so far, but if you like the anime and haven't 'played' (if you can call it that) the visual novel you should, i've spent as much time as it takes to finish an old school RPG going through it, be faster if I didn't listen to all the voice overs, but that's what makes it really emotional. Not to mention I still haven't been through all the stories xD

So just watching the anime you really do miss out on a fair bit.

i really like kyou...shes soo cool and awsome...tomoyo too but shes not really as sociable...still i luve her chain combos....lols...max was 1015 after the combo connected with 1 kick from tomoya....lols...really laufed my head of there....awsome...

yea, like they already said its in the newspaper when tomoya enters the room, you'll have to connect some dots though

woot kyou ftw its not that i hate nagisa but shes... i dont know how to explain it haha, anyway she'd be like my 3rd pick, honestly i don't want to rate tomoyo yet because we don't know a thing about her (we as in those who haven't played the game!) but since people have held her in high regard since the start of this thread i have high hopes for her story

Hmm, since in the last page people argued about the arc's I remembered suddenly something, When I re-watched Kanon 06, I saw that at some point Nayuki's arc and Ayu's arc were somewhat Blended together or lets just say "almost" combined but still the 2 arcs where different, its just they were combined at the very least, KyoAni might do this for Clannad but I'm not sure though, still it would be better if they would just extend the eps which would be somewhat better~.........

hey thats not a bad idea putting 2 arcs together...sure it wont be nice but least its original so even gamers wouldnt be able to predict...so is kanon and clannad from the same producer? Air as well?

in anycase i just hope they don't end tings of with a bad taste or the ending that Air had...that was just too sad...clannad is becoming a really nice show to watch...specially like how they can switch from humour to drama in an instant...and still maintain the effect...really nice...characters are as cute as ever too...(probably cos they originate from a pc game but still..)

what ever they come up with i hope i will enjoy it just as much...>.<

yeah they the whole three Air, Kanon and clannad were all produced by Kyoani bhut under the close eye of Key themselves to make sure they got the novels and anime going under the same story.

btw if you dont like to see a very sad an emotional anime which may have you sobbing into a pillow i suggest you stay away form Key's works because that what basically made them what they are today and why so many people love them. I suppose its come somewhat of Keys specialtys manageing to swicth between a humourous moment into a dramatic moment without losing any momentum in the process and infact i think it gives more momentom in the procees IMO being able to that and toyying with the readers/watchers emotions.

oh im fine with kannon...i just couldnt get over the ending for air....kannons a nice tear jerker...and the ending is a happy one...gave me the fuzzies...lols...and i tink its sorta like....im attracted to keys works..i mean theyr really nice...but i dun really like sad endings cuz i go into super depression mode after....so my problem is i guess...im being forced to watch animes by key cuz theyr just waayy too nice....

and after rewatching the 1st 12 ep for the 3rd time, its official - im totally in luv with kyou cuz shes just waayy too cool and cute....but i still like tomoyos chain combi...(replyed the 1k combo part for like 50 odd times cuz its just so cool...lols...) i really wan kyou and tomoya to be together T_T...

i actually found Air alot more emotional than Kanon myself too although Kanon was very emotional aswell. i know what you mean i hate the emotional parts in keys works but i cant help but watch because they do such good peices. lol i think everyone feels the same way about keys work. well i wouldnt use the word nice i tink id use amazing describes them better.

(more on topic now) i dont actually think they two would get together as much as i would love it to happen its just too unreal that way. plus i also relate to you while liking Tomoyo ive also developed a new love or Kyuo. lol nice to see we have so much in common together.

Just a little tidbit that I noticed when I re-watched episode 10's ending.

Just before they ran into the violin room, the girl was playing 'Kanon' which played everytime Yuuichi was in the cafe with someone in Kanon 2006. I thought it was Do-Re-Mi... the first time I heard it.

It isn't actually that surprising since Kyoto Animation already made some other references after that episode, meaning the Sword and Wand which is similar to that of Mai's and Sayuri's (the wand only showed up in the kanon 02 ver) and probably even the giant anteater doll which is also related to Mai and Sayuri

but I didn't notice it until you mentioned it probably I was too busy laughing at kotomi's antics that I hardly noticed

The creator that made the previous MAD which I posted have made a new one, and it is just as funny

I can't believe I never realized that until you said this. I guess because it was going too slow or something, but I just didn't catch it until now. And the piece is "Canon in D", not Kanon.

Why isnt it tagged under comedy? Ive never laughed as much during a series as I have done during Clannad!

Again must we mention this....

Key's story is Famous for tragic stories being "some" of their famous works are AIR, Clannad, Kanon but those are the only famous ones, since 3 of them where adapted to animes but they have already made several works including their older works before known as key.
Now back to the main point, Key's stories start of with a brief comical/happy moment only to make us more attached/comfortable w/ characters and is more like an appetizer for a meal but the true colors of their stories is more on the tragic and emotional moments, though its true Clannad hasn't yet shown its saddest moments, so be prepared as it will show up eventually.

PS: Once again for a little information KyoAni is responsible for the Anime Adaptation but Key owns totally the story and characters, etc.

I would beg to differ considering that Planetarian was fan-translated into English, and due to Clannad, Tomoyo After should already be known, and Little Busters! just came out and is even getting an 18+ version, a first for Key to first make an all-age game and then add adult content (Leaf did the same thing with ToHeart2 before). Anyway, if it's made by Key, you can bet that it's famous.

But back to Clannad, I just spent the past four or five hours re-watching the first nine episodes in a row in the widescreen format that is a few weeks behind the first releases each week, though due to the normal release stopping for Christmas break, the widescreen version will have a chance to catch up. Nothing was really different, though I did notice a few things I didn't see the first time through, but I think that was mainly due to rewatching the episodes again rather then them being in widescreen. Either way, the Fuko arc was definitely very nice, and especially in episode 9; the ending still makes me cry.
