Synopsis

The drama is based on the popular manga of the same name by Nakajo Hisaya, which has already been dramatized in Taiwan. Horikita plays the protagonist Ashiya Mizuki, a Japanese girl in the U.S. who one day sees the young athlete Sano Izumi (Oguri) compete in the high jump on television. She begins to idolize him, and decides to move to Japan to attend the same school as him. However, Izumi goes to an all-boys school, so Mizuki disguises herself as a boy to achieve her dream of being with her idol. - Tokyograph

i really like this live action with the Japaneses cast over the Twain version.

I am especially happy to see that Oguri Shun( I love the way he broods AYA! and I may sound like a Fan girl but haha its so true!) is playing Sano Izumi , you might remember him from HYD and Gokusen. I love him as an actor and think this will be interesting to see him being the main attraction of one girl's affection instead of playing a side kick.

And Horikita Maki as Ashiya Mizuki is pretty cute too.

Currently I'm reading the Hana-Kimi manga....really good.

A friend from this forum is mailing me the Hana-Kimi dorama...I think she's gonna give me the Taiwanese one...not really sure.

But the Taiwanese is getting a sequel that starts late 2007 or early 2008...something like that.

I hope the Hana-Kimi (Jap vesion) is up for DDL at FTV....coz I can only DDL for now.

It would be nice if FTV had a dorama discussion section like for anime, manga and games and not just a single thread at the General Disclosure section...the thread is quite dead in a way coz it kinda works like a recommedation thread....it would be nice like a section and threads for each series...would be nice.

But there are consquences to this idea...such as Daft will have to do it, since he's the leader of FTV and also the person who has access to do such things to this forum. Also, increased responsiblities and therefore, the need of appointing more sempais and FTV Team members...I guess.

There are quite a few here at FTV who enjoy the pleasures of Dorama.........Nodame Cantabile is a prime example of an hilarious dorama.

yeah i started to watch their version but kind of lost interest in it. the guys weren't appealing enough for me .

yeah the manga I REALLY enjoyed. had alot of humor in it and thats always a plus. I think that FTV does have it up for DDL.

yeah that would be alot more responsibilities but its a nice thought.

I actually havent checked out Nodames dorama yet. i always have to generate alot of energy to watch live actions or movies in general. doesnt really make sense since sitting there watching whatever doesnt really require that much effort

highly recommend this series, the manga was great and it kept you reading, and this tv drama just pulls you in especially since you can see how the characters would be in real life(within reason) Still get a kick out of the doctor though.

I talked to daft about making one a while ago but since it wasn`t exactly a manga or an anime I kinda dropped the idea.

Well I`ve watched the Taiwanese 1 season and it goes according to the manga.The actors are pretty good except for Mizuki`s part (I think the actress is very annoying) Nakatsu is great I totally love this actor. he acts exactly his role... "ITS LOVE!!!!!!!!!" I always laugh when he says that. And The Bishounen gay doctor is just pure pleasure.....
Actually thinking about it everybody really plays very good.

The Japanese version now. I understand that they were up to comparison with the Taiwanese so they totaly changed the story put some really popular actors in and made it look as much different as possible...

Ofcourse, I was expecting it since they had followed the same tactic about hana yori Dango...

I`ve watched the 3 eps and probably watch it till the end because the manga is one of my favorites but I still believe the Taiwanese are closer to the original....

anyway, back to the topic, in my opinion, i love to read the manga rather than watching the drama, at first . after, the third episode, i'm hooked! nakatsu is super FUN! the way he started suspect himself gay!!!! . personally, i think the jap version is more interesting. but story-wise, the taiwan version followed the manga closely than the jap version. the best part is when nakatsu lean over towards ashiya and then ashiya said "too close!!"  man, he should be with the doctor .

i had read all 24 volumes of the manga and i hope the series will cover most of the major event. because Jdrama has short series like 10 to 12 episodes per season, i hope they will not skip too much..

eek! only the first 2 seconds play on my vlc player for hana kimi ep 1, and the back part of ep 4 is all pixellised!! well eps 2 and 3 are both okay, just that i have problems playing 1 and 4. is it my com, or are the files corrupted?

I love the manga of this one I even completed reading all 23 volumes and I love it sooooo much so I am s\trying to download the show...

Please feel free to type anything you want about Hana Kimi... I am new here so I dont really know what to do so I am trying to learn by exploring neways just post whatever you want about hana kimi

Plz do not use bigger size fonts we are not blind...we some of us not and it kinda hard to read when it bigger... XD but really... it ok to use purple color font though

Um...You talk about the Taiwan version but I've never seen it. Is there somewhere you can download the subbed version?

Hana-Kimi is the shorthand name of it. Go buy it at Waldens or Borders.

u can download the subbed taiwanese version at d-addicts the taiwanese version is done. and it has english subs as well.

I wonder How many episodes of Hanarazaki will there be?

I really like the Nakatsu character, hes pretty funny, and the Dorm Leaders are very funny too.

This Drama is pretty good, ive started to watch Jap Drama after i saw Densha Otoko, and i have to say theyre pretty good.

it will be either 11 or 12 episodes. Sars has it as 11/12 as their not sure yet.

yea Nakatsu is soo funny to watch, how he thinks hes gay becuase he likes Mizuki and he doesnt know wat to do cuz he thinks shes a guy. haha

Episode 9 is out in Softsubs!! gonna go watch it now! it will prolly be another week before sars comes out with the hardsubs.
