A second season for Hidamari Sketch called Hidamari Sketch x 365 has been announced at the Hidamari Sketch event called Chou Hidamatsuri that was held today. Hidamari radio will also start in 2008 Jan and will run for a year with Asumi Kana as the main personality.

My Thoughts:

That it will another excellent series like the first season and will probably be short one as well with perhaps 12 to 13 episodes long. Ah well, this new information put a BIG smile on my face.

i've got to say its good and almost the same as S1..liked the animation too somehow it gave me a little bit feel like GSG S1..hope this'll be good

i haven't seen the first season, but i enjoyed X365. i think this is a rehash of the first season - i'm not sure though. i really enjoy the SHAFT art with the exception of word inserts.... it's like an overly cute and pastel-y version of zetsubou sensei. i'm definitely picking this up this season!

Tell me I'm not the only one here watching this series. After watching season one, I thought Hidamari Sketch was a pretty good anime to pass the time with, but it seems Shaft have really upped the cutesy moeness of the girls in x365, especially when you compare the OP from season one to this new one which is almost as hyper as the Lucky Star OP IMO, and just as cute.

I believe that this season is better than season one by a lot. It feels fresher than last season and the situations are more amusing.

Argh.. this show is just too darn cute! The OP is marvellous too. The part where Yuno starts singing "Yume de! Yume de!" almost makes my heart melt. Great job!

It's indeed a bit strange that there are so few messages about this series, since the previous one was so popular. Maybe people will think that it will be a victim of sequelitis and will be worse than the previous one. But it isn't. By all means, it's actually better! Go watch this, now!

Hello does anybody know the title of the song played at the end of the first episode, while they are showing the preview of the second episode?

Not sure if you still need it, but it's Track 10 from the first OST, Shinmiri. I think it's what they use in all the previews.

I thought episode 9 was so-so, but episode 10 is a hoot. Especially Miyako's remark about someone saying "give me your daughter" cracked me up.

But Sae, really--how much more obvious does Natsume have to behave before you realize she has a crush on you? Pretty funny scene though.

hi~ is it just me, or you guys can't view the subtitle in episode 11?
i know it's mkv and i know that the subs ccan be switched on and off.
but it really doesn't show.
i've been watching and downloading anime for years now, and this is the 1st time this has happened to me.

It's ... it's over! Wow, what a ride it was. This is an absolutely brilliant show. The ending nearly made me cry *sniff*. Hopefully they will be back.

I completely agree; this was a truly wonderful series, and one that's very nice to watch. It's so slow paced and relaxing that you could watch any episode any day and it wouldn't matter (plus the episodes are already out of order chronologically to boot. ) Season 2 was much better than season 1 in most aspects. Practically the only really funny scene that I remember from the first season was the "Et tu, Brute" scene from one of the earlier episodes. Hearing Miyako struggle under the weight of the bust still makes me laugh when I think about it.

And the ending of x365 was really well done with the main characters singing the lyrics from the first season's OP. After the episode, I had to listen to that song, and it was so nostalgic since I hadn't listened to it in a while. You know how listening to a song can bring back memories of when you first heard it? Yeah, it was like that; the entire winter of 2007 (when the first season premiered) is still a period I'm fond of in my life.

Lastly, I'll announce that Hidamari Sketch x365 is going on my list for Best Anime of 2008. If you haven't watched it yet, I highly recommend it!

You forgot the scene right after that one, when Miyako keeps eating the bread that Yuno brought as a charcoal eraser. Actually, that whole episode is golden and I think the first season is still very good, even though the second is indeed better.

When it comes to music: I think the OP of the second season is brilliant in its zaniness. especially the part where Yuno starts singing "Yume de". So endearing... The ED is on my mp3 player now as well and I listen to it a lot.

There are going to be a third season apparently :D ~happy~

The new season has started. Should we start a new thread or...

Anyway, it's more of the same high quality, hilarious, slice-of-life schoolgirl fun, now featuring two new tenants! The new girls are cute but it's still hard to get a sense of them from their brief introductions. The best part of this episode was Yuno's reaction to failing the grammar test, then overcoming it and getting stuck in an English rut. Also some great Oyassan moments dreaming of the money from full occupancy, and her reaction to the lunch she was left with.

For the life of me I can't understand why these shows aren't more popular.
