Okay, I have a RAW of a dorama episode of Tantei Gauken Q and I have the ass file for the particular episode with it.
The problem is that when I open my media player when I have both of them highlighted, the subs don't show on the video. I'm opening it like I do it with an SRT file extension. Am I doing this wrong or is the file extension corrupted ?? I got the episode and the ass. file from here -----> http://getfansub.com/wiki/Tantei_Gakuen_Q_%28JDorama%29 So yeah, I couldn't really convey my problem as I wanted but I tried to do it as best as I can.....................so PLEASE someone help me!!! Thanx!!! XD |
|
did you try labeling the files the same name and then opening in media player classic? (they need to be in the same folder.)
|
|
if i get it right the rss file contains subs so I would advise you to press CTRL + L when you open MPC if a select box to select its location dose not appears(dosnt always works but seems to work in codac packs) then you should just download BSplayer that will save you trouble in the future.
if you did the old method in the right way and it didnt work then you should click with the right key the player(after you loaded the movie with the subs ) and go to filters and see the filters you have one of the name in the list can be opened to the right see if its off. further more you can open the subtitle section and check it out as well ![]() |

Whats the player?
If it's media player classic, first open the raw episode, then go to File>Load Subtitle, and pick the ass file. For most players there is something close to that, like "open subtitle file" or something. If neither of those work, try remuxing it (google "mkvmerge gui"). It sounds hard but really isn't, and it saves time for rewatching. |
|
Hmmm, try ussing the program subtitle workshop? It can convert up to 50 differnt formats of subtitle files. .ass to .srt is easy... But i agree with ussing mkvmerge gui.

Ugh... It's usually way easier and more helpful for the future to just figure out how to play the original file then to find workarounds like converting... Also subtitle workshop is crap. The only decent subtitle editing tool is Aegisub, which is what most fansubbers use.
BSplayer is likely the most broken player ever made. Even VLC is more usable. BSplayer fun Lastly, the correct way to play ass subtitles that are separated. Is to rename the video and subtitles so that they match and keep them in the same directory. Or to mux the file together instead with mkvmerge. Using Load Subtitle from the file menu in MPC will force usage of the internal renderer. Which is outdated and might not work correctly. Thanks guys. EDIT: - DAMN...........now I'm getting this message when I use the load subtitle option: -
Okay, what on earth does this mean ???? HELP ONEGAI desu~!!! |

Like harukalover said, using the "load subtitle" function doesn't always work... (yeah, i know i was the one who suggested it) It's probably workable if you change the renderer, but it's not really a good idea to mess with it if you don't know what you're doing.
Choice 1: Try renaming the sub with the same exact file name as the raw, exactly the same. If they are in the same directory, you should be able to load it just like if it was muxed into the file, assuming you use cccp. Choice 2: The best option is to remux it. http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolni...ds.html#windows How to remux: |

In MPC, go to View and then Options. Go to the Output section. Under DirectShow Video, select Haali Renderer. Click OK. Restart MPC. |
|
Doofus, I tried out what you said but after I restarted MPC, the video didn't show up, however, I was able to use the load subtitle option but unfortunately that was useless since no video was coming up.
chickenwing71x, both the avi and ass file are in one file. The thing is on my desktop, I've installed both CCCP and K-Lite together. Anyways, I'm now remuxing it with MKVmerge GUI.....I will give feedback on it, once its done. |
|
|
|
I remuxed using mkvmerge GUI and sadly again....it didn't work out. I'm about to uninstall both codecs and then reinstall CCCP alone, since, almost everyone here loves it.
EDIT: Now its only CCCP but it still won't work................why ???????????? This post has been edited by JCDRANZER on Jun 20 2008, 09:16 AM |

So, am I correct in saying... You took the avi raw you downloaded, and muxed it with the ass subtitle file into an mkv with mkvmerge?
If so, after opening the new mkv in media player classic, go to Navigate>Subtitle Language>the subtitle file (it might be called "unknown" or something). That should work. But if none of our suggestions work, i don't know what to say... All i can think of is renaming or remuxing. remember to go to Navigate>Subtitle Language in case the subs don't show up automatically. |

Well i knew this would happened any way stop all this complicated actions just download BSplayer and reinstall your CCCP that will do it for shore!! Mod's note: Link removed. No warez allowed; also, CCCP works fine by itself without BS player. Throwing more stuff in won't fix the problem. P.s: the rar contains install and keygen i think you can figure out how to install it P.s:can you give me the rss file you are trying to use? ![]() |

In the process of installing two codec packs, many filters would have inadvertently replaced each other. Once one of the packs is removed, you end up with some missing filters. You'll have to reinstall CCCP. Oh btw, K-Lite does a piss poor job in removing itself (you have to restart after uninstalling K-lite and BEFORE installing CCCP. Don't do it all in one session); use the insurgent to help remove it completely. To try to summarize:
Uninstall every codec/player you have. Then, install the newest cccp. You can always add another codec if cccp doesn't support something. This isn't to help the sub work, its just generic advice for anyone who had mult. codec packs installed, and it can prevent possible future problems with which filter are registered. Now, for getting the subs to work: 1: Try renaming the subs/episode to the exact same file name in the same directory. 2: Try remuxing it. 3: Upload/link to the ass file so we can see if theres anything wrong with it. Don't forget to go to Navigate>Subtitle Language in case the subs don't show up automatically. By the way, its called bsplayer for a reason. Don't even bother with it. |

Ah insurgent.....I haven't got that...link plz.
Link to where I got the ass files. -----> http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_50569.htm chickenwing71x, I've tried everything you suggested and still no result. This post has been edited by doofus123 on Jun 20 2008, 11:54 AM |

CCCP Insurgent With the remuxed mkv, run a test render with insurgent (tools>test render), and copy/paste the result I don't know why It wouldn't work...where did you get the raw from? And do all the episodes not work, or just one? I'll try dling the raw+ass and test it myself. EDIT: Ah, found the torrents for the raws, but they look almost dead. I don't feel like waiting a few days for it to download... so i won't be doing it myself. |
|
I didn't use torrents, I direct downloaded it from this site, its megaupload links.

I just noticed the link in your first post... haha sorry about that. Give me 20 min. to download.
