Like Full Metal Alchemist, a sequel of Darker than Black was also leaked by BONES staff apparently. Again the sources are 2chan and some random/unknown blog site (not moetron).. Considering how horrible the anime was in general in both ratings and the actual show, I'd say the chances of this compared to a sequel of Full Metal Alchemist is even slimmer. So for those who actually thought that Darker than Black was awesome, I really would not get your hopes too high up.

But then again, miracles happen every once in a while, so stay happy while you can..

This is at least the 1 of the two rumors I can believe in a bit more, though the show really did come to an end so I really don't have high expectations for this to go anywhere beyond the rumor stage. I can only hope for a miracle cause Darker than Black was excellent.

MOAR suckage lol way to let your bias show Kit lmao... Darker than Black was a very nice anime. It did get a bit boring for a few episodes somewhere in the middle but the ending episodes were highly entertaining. I can see these rumors being true because this story could go in so many different directions. So many questions but I suspect THE TRUTH IS BEYOND THE GATE...

I was rather disappointed with the show. The first half of the series was okay, but then the second half really made me feel like I was wasting my time despite sitting through all of it (though I was kinda hoping it would get better at some point). The ending was just not fitting, as if nothing had happened. Also, the second half, in my opinion, was a bit confusing, but again that may just be me.

This isn't it, but its funny. Darker Than Black required a more critical eye than most anime series because you had to find out what the message was.
Season 2 will shed light on the story I guess, so, I think you should watch it anyway.

Since I've already watched the first season, I might as well watch the second, but again I'm not setting my expectations as high as I did for the first season though. Hopefully it will shed some light though.

Yeah. I think the confusion was deliberate, but they didn't get the green light for season 2 until now.

It's not even a green light yet. Just a leak that it was in the works, but no official confirmation.

As anticipated, the spreadsheet was a spoof all along. BONES announced that there was no such spreadsheet or document found in their company's database and will severely punish whoever created/uploaded/published the false document.

HOWEVER, simultaneously, BONES is considering the possibility of doing a sequel for both series. More details to come after Expo ends later today

Hey I thought Darker Than Black was one of the best animes i'd ever watched it was much better then Bleach or Naruto and almost as good as Hellsing

I personally have no idea why people would suggest the anime was 'horrible' it was by far one of the better ones I have seen that year. The second suggestion that rating were horrible means nothing. Britany Spears had good ratingss... oh wait!

Nethereless im interested to see what areas of the story they will branch off and explain more. First one had alot to take in, but it was not too far over the top. I personally cannot wait!

Season Two = Romance between Hei and Kirihara!?!?!?
I guess one aspect of the story could be Kirihara chasing down Hei as she never got to confront him at the end of the first series. I can't actually think of much else they could do.
With BK-201's identity now known by some to be Hei/Lee Shenshun he doesn't have as much mystery as he did in series one which is what made his character so cool and enticing, so I suppose that is a bit of a bummer
but I do hope they make a series two so my first statement can come true as it is bound to happen anyway!

And it is now finally official. A 2nd Season of Darker than Black has been green-lit.

I'm not surprised since this was leaked back when the news about FMA2 was leaked and that was correct so I've just been waiting for the official announcement to come along. Fabulous news. Loved Darker than Black despite it's kinda slow story and episodic nature.

Good news, I really liked the Anime, even tought I didnt really understand the ending ^^

Im interested in what they will do as Story, because the ones whom Hei worked for are dead.

So I'm rewatching season 1 in anticipation for the next season (dubbed this time around, which is pretty good actually) and I've realized something that will kinda suck about DtB 2. The music will not be done by Yoko Kanno. I'm gonna really miss the great music she does so it's a shame that she won't be doing it for the 2nd season.

Episode one took a while to get going, showing the Tanya and Nika confessions scene and all of that, but we got to see Hei! although I prefer old Hei with shorter hair, as shown in next episodes preview he has become quite the rough looking tramp who drinks.
I'm guessing Shion is a special contractor who will most likely have more relevance soon.

I am pretty sure hes gonna get a haircut/makeover. As I think I seen pics of him with his regular hair.

The 2nd series is called Gemini something? Maybe Shion/Suou share or have complemented powers or something since their twins

wow, its good to see this anime back. does anyone know if that lady cop hooks up with hei finally in this next saeson, clues or hints or will she ever be in this season. thats all im interested in.

The new episode was amazing! and confusing but I know it will definitely be so worth it to watch. This thread needs to be the official DTB season 2 thread.

I've never even seen Misaki in any promo or anything for DtB2 so it's possible she might not even make an appearance, and unless the show switches locations from Russia back to Japan I don't expect her to make an appearance.
Edit: Actually just remembered that they said Suou's mother is in Japan so there leaves a very probable opening to move the show over to Japan.

Now that the new season has started I'm quite disappointed that November 11th died at the end of the 1st season just cause I won't be able to see more of him. He was definitely a fav.
Also sad to see April go so quickly and by Hei no less.  I was hoping she would have a bigger part, but unfortunately that is not the case at all.

I know this will undoubtedly be a personal favorite of the season and was probably the series I was looking forward to the most.
