So after a long wait and the hiatus of the mysterious Kiddy Grade 2 that teased us in May 2007, the official announcement has finally occurred.



The new title is called Kiddy Girl-and. It is a spinoff of the original 2002/2003 Kiddy Grade that is set 200 years AFTER the events of Kiddy Grade. "The spirited Asukuuru and serious Ku Fīyu work for the galactic government known as GTO. The two girls are members of ES, GTO's finest secret agents with special abilities — or, rather, they are training to become ES."

There is no word as to when this will air.

So we waited 2 years for a crap title. This is likely the result of Gonzo's recent restructuring. It would seem they are using the same characters from the one episode teaser, but it seems their names have now changed. The cast remains unknown at this point. Sources indicate that Aya Hirano may be taking the lead role however. Is this the big surprise she told otakus to wait for and not Haruhi 2?

Edit: Satelight is involved in the production. It is unknown whether Gonzo still is or not. Satelight did the animation for Macross Frontier, which means blu-ray could equal epic win.

Well I made a post in the Kiddy Grade 2 thread since that what this is pretty much, but oh well. Was that pink haired girl in the KG2 promo thing? I never watched it cause when it came out I hadn't seen Kiddy Grade yet, but from the images from the old KG2 thread it was a blue haired girl, not this pink haired girl. And from the summaries posted the names are still the same.

It may be the spelling of the characters....
Asukuuru = Ascule?
Ku Fīyu = Que Feuilles?

Regardless, Ku looks moe As for the pink hair, that really just looks like Asukuuru's hair dyed pink and the tails cut off. Then again she could be a new character or the real Asukuuru/Ascule.

I had assumed Asukuuru=Ascule and even in Jul10's original post it was written Asukuuru. Same for Ku Fiyu=Que Feuilles.

Although it's not just the hair as eye color is also different, although I like the old look of Asukuuru over this new pink haired version (thanks for clearing that up too as I wasn't sure which was Asukuuru and which was Ku Fiyu).

WAIT WUT!! lol? now it Kiddy Girl-and O_o oh well as long as i get more of this show =D.

As you can see, it states the date (I've heard on the grapevine that it'll be May 26th, but don't quote me on that). Now, I don't know if the '26' mentioned is the number of episodes as I can't read Japanese. But I hope this is what's indicated.

...oh, and since March of this year, there's been a manga version serialised in Comp Ace magazine (source: Wikipedia).

It is about time that this came out.

First episode finally out. Too much Ascoeur and not enough Q-feuille. It's a shame that Ascoeur is just really annoying as she's a teleporter, usually my favorite type of ability. At least it will always be awesome to watch her fight and teleport around.

Oh god, I wanted to punch Ascoeur so much.

Why can't they just do Eclair again? I can get a mentally retarded klutz by watching practically any moe anime out there. Whereas Eclair was brash and used her lipstick whip which is far superior to any cruddy generic beam sword thing.

I am so disappointed.

I'm gonna try really hard not to compare the new leads to Eclair and Lumiere. I was a big fan of the first series and those two characters played well off of each other. But in this first episode Ascoeur was surprisingly over the top ditsy. I didn't think the series would have this type of main heroine. And like Barbo said Q-feuille was pretty much an afterthought this eppy (what's up w/that?) I'm praying that in future episodes she gets as much screen-time as Ascoeur to strike a balance between seriousness and silliness. I can't complain about the fight sequences though because they were pretty entertaining. The whole bloomers thing... errr was that supposed to be cute... funny...

Do you guys think its a good idea to watch Kiddy Grade before this? I was about to watch this but haven't seen KG so I want to make sure I don't ruin one or both series.

Just going by the first episode you see a lot of characters (ES members) from the first series. If you want that familiarity with the characters it's probably a good idea to watch the first series. But who knows how big of a role they will play; that remains to be seen. Personally I would recommend watching the first series regardless because it gives you that original perspective of the kiddy grade universe. Plus there's always a chance that the main characters from the first series Eclair and Lumiere make a cameo appearance. If it happens I can't imagine you'd appreciate that event as much as those who watched and enjoyed the first series. Boy I said the term 'first series' a lot in this post... A good sign that I need to get some sleep soon...

what happened at the beginning of this series.... the end of Kiddy Grade was semi happy.

this is this new topic >< but like in previous,,, I just hope this is some kind of side story or somth cos really hoping for K.G 2 that there it will be one dat ^^ ... it is hard to compare kiddy girl and with K.G beacause this whole concept seems to be taken bit lighter ,more like comedy dunno what next episodes bring but I just finished 2nd one

Hmmm... so I watched the first 5 episodes; that being the case... not that bad an anime, it is definitely better than quite a few others this year. I have never seen the first season, so I can't really compare (and there is no way I'am gonna watch S1 in dubs) thus I don't see any huge downfalls in this one. I'll keep it on my "Watch when I'am out of of anime that I'm following" list.

after watching ep 6 i have to say that it was the most hilarious thing ive seen in a while
both with the director and tama turning into a guy

heh, I think they went off the deep side in episode 6. Went from pantie ecchi to full on hentai. It was pretty funny though.

Sigh... couldn't watch the episode because my younger siblings were over rofl; it turned very... hentai-ish at one point, but i'll see it later today!
