Aye, well this is a simple thread to help gather anime that have ended in which its manga counterpart that has continued beyond that.

Please post the volume and chapter if possible in where the manga will pick up where the anime left off.

This thread will hopefully help people who want to pick up anime series they have enjoyed and further want read them in manga.

If anyone knows id like to know where these pick up in the manga.

Great Teacher Onizuka
Overdrive
Suzuka
Initial D
Skip Beat
Toradora (If it does?)
Sekirei
Zero no Tsukaima

If it makes things neater, I could re-update the first post to compile all the anime/manga.

Didnt know which section this belonged in, if this is a dupe thread then mods or w/e can delete it. biggrin.gif

IIRC, the Toradora manga was made after the anime, but I may be wrong.

Chapters listed are from a site I use. May or may not be correct.

GTO ended at ch. 106
Overdrive ended at vol 5
Suzuka ended at ch. 72
Fourth stage of Initial D ended at ch. 423
Skip Beat! ended at ch. 66
Toradora has light novel source
Sekirei is crap
Zero no Tsukaima has light novel source.

The site said that Sekirei was crap, or is that YOUR opinion?

Anyway, some things to note about those series, several of them are planned (or at least rumored) to have a second season or more. Such as Skip Beat and Sekirei. Toradora has been rumored to be getting a second season at some point too.

Please GOD NO. Enough of this madness. How about they start making romanc series that do not follow a pre-arranged cliche setup, necessarily with a tsundere in it? rolleyes.gif

Plus, it'd also mean more crazy fanboys who think that it's the best thing since Evangelion and are worse than Narutards (on other forums; ppl here have been reasonable with their opinions, thankfully).

One of the biggest tragedies in my life... Berserk.

The manga is soooo much better (I'm not saying that the anime is bad).

And there isn't really a way to describe at which chapter anime ends, because the plot consists of several books of Berserk redone and censored for the sake of making it more public.

So if one wants to follow up, I reckon to read the whole manga from the scratch.

"^ Well, that may be true for the cases where the anime and manga diverge sufficiently. For some of the more "popular" and plain series, though, it'd be a waste of time since one usually follows the other pretty closely.

I dunno I enjoyed Toradora, it was not the best but it was really well done, even a couple OVA's to tie things up would be nice. Most of my favorite series have had a definite ending (sorry cliffhangers tick me off). As for manga picking up where animes left off its kinda strange since I find once I watch an anime I cannot go back to the manga, the way each character is brought to life kinda makes any other medium worthless to me (I am kinda a character driven person, really enjoy animes where I can see a character fleshed out well, hence why I seem to enjoy romance, drama and slice of life, although other genres can be just as good).

I just noticed that information about the start and end of Anime in Manga is starting to be built into the Manga Updates database. For example, you can see here on the page for Sekirei:
http://www.mangaupda...es.html?id=3867

Just scroll down to where it says "Anime Start/End Chapter" and there you go.

Indeed. That's the website I used as well.

Except for Sekirei, of course.
